SCIENTIFIC CAMPUS UNIMI MIND

The chosen site for the University of Milan’s campus is located within the former Expo 2015 area. In this context, MIND (Milano Innovation District) emerges, aiming to become an economic model that rewards sustainability and innovation in what will be a reference point at the regional, national, and European levels for research and innovation.

Starching, along with Redesco Progetti, Manens, and EPTA, tasked respectively with the architectural, structural, and plant engineering design, as well as space planning,  in collaboration with the CRA – Carlo Ratti Associati studio to define the overall architectural concept of the project.

This project is part of a large-scale urban regeneration initiative promoted by Lendlease, an international group with a 99-year concession for the private development of the area. It will establish a veritable city of research and science spanning over 190,000 square meters and accommodating a community of 23,000 people.
