A Trieste i nuovi uffici della regione nel porto vecchio

In 2024, Starching will focus particularly on large-scale regeneration projects, both private and public, capable of transforming entire neighborhoods and sections of cities.

In Rome, the scope ranges from the workplace sector with the new ENEL Headquarters, where Starching has been a key player since late 2020 for the executive and constructive design as well as overall project coordination, to the mixed-use intervention in via Boncompagni, where Starching is tasked with integrated design and construction management. In Milan, the UniMi project goes beyond educational and university functions, creating a true cultural and educational hub at MIND that will complement the Human Technopole. In 2024, work also began on the new Beic, the European Library of Information and Culture in Porta Vittoria. Noteworthy in the Lombard capital are also the two residential projects: Milano 3.0 and Park West.”

In Trieste, as part of the broader redevelopment project of the Old Port, Starching is working on the new offices for the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region. The technical and economic feasibility project involves the conservative restoration and renovation of Building 118, Warehouses 7 and 10, and Hangar 21.

“The relocation of the administrative offices, along with spaces for its 1,200 employees within the volumes of the Old Port, will allow the consolidation of offices that are currently scattered in different areas of the city. Simultaneously, a significant portion of the building heritage, currently in a state of complete abandonment, will be reclaimed, catalyzing further investments within the ancient port, which remains one of the most important and largest ports in Europe and the Mediterranean,” states Simone Longoni, Director of Starching. Alongside a temporary consortium of 600 professionals in total, Starching has won the tender for the technical and economic feasibility project and the construction management in the subsequent executive phase. The team assembled represents excellence composed of various professionals and expertise.

Among them are six nationally and internationally acclaimed firms, along with Starching, coordinated by Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia (for general coordination, architectural aspects, technology, and envelope), Milan Ingegneria (for structural design and seismic vulnerability, fire protection design of structures, and BIM management), Deerns Italia (for systems design, CAM, and acoustics), Damiani Arch+ (local architect), the geological firm Graziano Masi, and for restoration, Maelle Restauri. The project aims to redevelop 4 buildings and targets the conversion of an area of over 45,000 square meters. The estimated value of the works exceeds 100 million euros, with completion expected in 3 years.
